BIOGRAPHY

Under the moniker Kiid Death, Julien can be himself through his art. He hails from Ontario, Canada. At the young age of 15, he had already demonstrated significant merits in the music industry; His first official release “Anastasia” had amassed over 200,000 streams before he was 16, and combined through all platforms and original songs on Spotify at the time, 600,000. At an early age he was influenced by rappers like Eminem, Big Sean and Lil Wayne; and singers like Justin Bieber, Adam Levine and Bruno Mars. Even when he struggled with a variety of negative outside influences during his childhood, he rose from the dirt with the conviction and determination to continue forward by following his artistic vision.

Julien came up with the name Kiid Death after a long struggle of attempting to decide how to define himself as an artist. “Kiid” represents life, the future and the beginning; whilst “Death” represents the end of the path, reflecting the title as a representation of the yin and yang we each experience in life through our own journey. The cultural inspiration for the name comes from the character “Death The Kid” from the show “Soul Eater”, one of Julien’s favorite animes growing up.

Now that Julien is older (20) he’s starting to shed his cocoon and become himself. His current inspirations – outside of his own life – include XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, Craig Xen, $uicideboy$, Freddie Dredd, Joji, Billie Ellish – and many more. Julien’s ambitions are honest and straightforward; to touch as many people as he can through his music by combining many different styles and genres into his work such as Pop, Grunge, Metal, Underground Rap and several similar – but different – Indie sounds. He pours his heart and soul into the lyrics and tends to remain unpredictable, while bringing a versatile sound to all of his fans and listeners.
